What BioScout is. A training tool that estimates movement and joint-load figures from phone video. It is
not a medical device: it does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and its numbers are estimates. Use it at your own risk and ask a professional about anything health-related. It is made by one person, Dr. Basílio Gonçalves, and provided as it is, without warranty.
Without an account everything stays on this device. Videos are analysed here and never uploaded; profiles and logs live in this browser's storage, so clearing it or uninstalling the app deletes them. Export your data if you want to keep it.
With an account (optional), the athlete you mark as you is also kept in your account on servers in the EU (Supabase, Frankfurt) so your devices can sync: training sessions and their summaries, meals, diary and mood, sleep, weight, vitals, water and coffee, cycle, assessments, reaction tests and imported activities. Some of this is health data; by creating an account and syncing you agree to it being stored for that purpose. Only you can read it. Videos, motion curves and meal photos are not uploaded.
The feed. A post is a picture or short clip you choose plus up to 42 characters, shown with your username. A profile picture, if you add one, is shown next to your name to the same people. If your account is
open, anyone signed in to BioScout can see your posts; if it is
private, only you and your friends can.
Friends are mutual (one asks, the other accepts) and see your posts and name, never your logs. Anyone signed in can find you by your username, which is chosen once and cannot be changed. Post only what you have the right to share, never other people without their consent, and nothing illegal, hateful or sexual; posts and accounts that break this can be removed. You keep the rights to what you post and let BioScout show it in the app.
Your data, your choice. Export it any time (Edit profile → Export), correct it in the app, and delete your account with everything in it, posts included (Edit profile → Account → Delete my account) — which also withdraws your consent. Questions or requests: basilio.goncalves7@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
Age. You must be at least 14 to create an account; younger athletes need a parent or guardian to agree for them.
Also: Help & chat runs on this device and is not stored; "Talk to a professional" opens your own email or WhatsApp. Strava and video-link imports go through a helper on your own computer. Nothing is sold, and there are no ads or trackers. When these terms change, the app asks you to agree again.
